This year, as part of the Chelsea Fringe festival, Askew Road Library will be taking part in Edible Askew Road. This is from 18 May to 9 June 2013.
Hammersmith Community Gardens Association (HCGA) want to create a river of fruit trees along the Askew Road – underplanted with flowers and herbs to encourage our native pollinators – bees and butterflies. This will also encourage everyone to appreciate the value of locally produced food and helping insects, the trees will also help to beautify Askew Road.
HCGA are inviting shops, cafes, restaurants, businesses, estate agents and pubs in the Askew Road to sponsor a fruit tree outside their premises – so if you’d like to get involved check out the HCGA’s website.
Edible Askew Road will launch on Saturday 18 May & Askew Road Library will have lots of events on that day- please check our events page for details nearer the time.
