The two Children’s Chatterbooks groups at Askew Road Library have met twice since our Author launch event in October this year.

We have a dedicated wall area for our group to display work that has been created, a poster advertising the next couple of month’s meetings and a reading wall, where Children can post books they have read or Authors that they like so other Children can see.

In November We watched a video on the computer of Chris Riddell drawing an Illustration of a ghost mouse which features in his book “Goth Girl”. Group members then using a step by step guide drew their own ghost mouse and as a group we sent the pictures off and entered a competition to win a prize.

This month The Children created a hand made Christmas card for their favourite author.

The Christmas Cards were then put into envelopes with an accompanying letter and hopefully are well on their way to their destinations. A couple of them will be travelling air mail!

Three Children sent cards to Jeff Kinney, there are two for both David Walliams and J. K. Rowling.
Darcy Bussell, Jacqueline Wilson, Rick Riordan, Cressida Cowell, Christopher William Hill and John Flanagan will each also be receiving a Christmas Card.

- Saturday group – Saturday 11th January 2014. 10:45-12
