Hammersmith & Fulham Local Studies and Archives – New Home

The Local Studies and Archives recently moved from Lilla Huset on Talgarth Road to the newly refurbished Hammersmith Library on Shepherd’s Bush Road. We are based on the first floor, in a light and airy room, with beautiful stained glass windows.

On the open shelves we have electoral registers; local history reference books; local newspapers and parish registers on microfilm; school and church magazines. We also have a large collection of photographs and newspaper cuttings, as well as OS maps of the borough.

Local Studies material is available during the library’s opening hours. To make an appointment to view archival material, on a Monday or Tuesday, please email archives@westminster.gov.uk

The Archivist is present on Mondays and Tuesdays, and has a team of local volunteers who are happy to help with research enquiries. We look forward to meeting you soon!
