VE Day 70th anniversary at Askew Road Library, May 2015Askew Road Library celebrated the 70th Anniversary of VE Day on Friday 8 May with a Library Street Party. A good crowd attended for a talk about Askew Road during and after the war, music, singing, a quiz, a prize draw, sandwiches and a fantastic cake baked by Chenelle. Thirteen of our Home Library Service customers attended and said they enjoyed it immensely.

Thanks too to Amanda and Vernal, Neil and Kate for helping and keeping the rest of the library going during the event and to the ex-members of staff who also came: Elin who sang a couple of songs and Lyn who dressed up in forties costume and helped at the event in a big way.
