Author Helen Harris visited Hammersmith Library last week where she gave a fascinating talk about her work followed by a Q & A session. Helen’s latest book was released last year, after a 10 year break from writing.
She also read from her recent novel “Sylvia Garland’s Broken Heart.” The book explores the life of a widow facing the complexities of modern life following the death of her husband and the birth of a grandson. One reviewer said of the story: ‘it is one of those rare novels that makes you brood on its characters in the intervals when you are not reading, and wonder what is happening to them.’
