Courttia Newland, Hammersmith Library

Monday evening 26th October Hammersmith Library welcomed acclaimed local Author, Playwright and Screenwriter Courttia Newland.  Courttia grew up in Shepherds Bush where he first became a rapper and music producer.  Together with some friends released a Drum n’ Bass white label.  Then in 1997 he published his first novel, the Scholar.

It’s was fitting that he had this event at Hammersmith Library, because as a child Courttia remembered visiting Hammersmith Library and sitting in the corner reading books for hours which he thoroughly enjoyed.

Despite only having 25 people attend this event, It was a pleasant relaxed evening with plenty of audience participation.
